English football is set to unite again over the above weekend to promote Play Safe – a countrywide campaign to focus attention of the vital importance of safeguarding in our national game. This will be held on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 September.
Play Safe is the campaign weekend when the whole of football in England – from the professional game to the grassroots, and every level in between – joins forces to promote awareness of the importance of safeguarding across the game we all love. Once again, the Play Safe weekend is endorsed by leading children’s charity the NSPCC.

This year’s Play Safe weekend focuses on the safeguarding role EVERYONE has to play – coach, player, parent/carer, spectator or volunteer – to keep children and young people safe, no matter what the football setting.
Anyone’s love of football can be taken away by negative behaviour and abuse. Safeguarding prevents this from happening. A Play Safe weekend at the start of each season is there to put safeguarding at the forefront of people’s minds. It reminds everyone to watch, listen, talk, act in every football environment. You can find out more about Play Safe here: https://www.englandfootball.com/playsafe.
Anchorians FC have joined the pledge to ensure that we will always watch, listen and act to keep our players and young people within a safe environment.
Our players will be given armbands to show their support, and pins given out to our coaches and managers.
Anchorians FC takes the wellbeing and safety of everybody seriously. You can always talk to your team's coach, or contact our Welfare Officers directly.
